The textile industry, with mass production and non-transparent manufacturing methods, human rights violations, environmental pollution, mass destruction of new, unsold clothing and many other methods that disregard the environment and people, is one of the greatest threats to people and nature - unrecognized by many. One step, albeit small, against ruthless cheap and mass production is to care for and repair our clothes so that we can wear them for a long time and enjoy them, and not constantly replace them with new cheap pieces and throw away old ones.
