Free stitching/embroidery

Textile art was undervalued for a long time, but is currently experiencing a renaissance and new attention.

From the rather meaningless pure decoration of embroidered handkerchiefs, tablecloths and bed sheets, embroidery has developed into a multifaceted form of artistic expression.

The variety of threads and fabrics, stitches and colors offer unimagined possibilities for creatively expressing one's own experiences, feelings, sensations and moods.

Embroidery does not require much technical knowledge; even very simple stitches can have a great effect. What is needed, however, is peace, leisure and perseverance, and that is precisely why embroidery is so meditative and healing in a world flooded with the senses. You can embroider almost anywhere if you have small pieces of fabric, a needle and thread with you. You can even keep an embroidered diary.
